Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ChessStride collects and uses information when you use the ChessStride mobile app and this website.

Information we collect

When you create or use an account, ChessStride may process your email address, display name, account ID, usage activity, and device-related settings needed to provide the app. We use Firebase Authentication for accounts, Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage (such as screen views, lesson attempts and completion), and Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics. Custom analytics events use lesson identifiers and counts rather than account names or email addresses.

We use Google AdMob to show banner, interstitial and optional rewarded ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic data to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Advertising choices are collected using Google’s User Messaging Platform where required. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Why we use it

  • To create and secure your account.
  • To save your progress and keep your preferences.
  • To prevent abuse, keep the service stable, and improve quality.
  • To deliver and measure advertising where enabled, including optional rewarded hints.

Sharing and storage

ChessStride uses cloud services and support providers only as needed to operate core features, authenticate users, and process reports. We share data only with providers that are required to run the service, protect the app, or meet legal obligations. Advertising data may be shared with Google and its advertising partners as described above. Where available, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of data for targeted advertising through the app’s ad privacy choices.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information only as long as your account is active and for a limited period needed for safety and legal compliance. You can delete your account directly from the app or by following the account deletion instructions. Deleted accounts are removed from active use; any required remaining records are anonymized.

Your choices

Open Profile → Ad privacy choices to review or change your advertising choices when this control is available in your region. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the consent message lets you consent, decline or manage purposes. In applicable US states, the privacy form provides an opt-out choice. Changing advertising choices does not delete your account or learning progress.

You can update your profile details, stop using the service at any time, and request account or data assistance from support. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
